Uiks! Japanese food again! This is the Fujisawa Izakaya located outside The Starling. I was here once before with my partner for dinner. I had always wanted to visit for lunch.
Their lunch sets are more affordable than the ones at Rakuzen@The Starling but of course not as awesome.
For my first lunch visit, I had the Saba Shioyaki Set.
The lunch sets come with lemon water.
I could not resist ordering a serving of sashimi.
The lunch was not bad at all. The presentation is of course lots better than the one at the foodcourt.
I returned for the Tori Karaage Fried Rice Set.
Hmmm…. not that worth it as you get only three tiny pieces of fried chicken.
Then one Friday evening, I suggested to my partner to come here for dinner.
I was not that hungry, so I decided to eat something that I love, grilled salmon head!
hee..hee..hee.. I never appreciated fish head until much later in life. These days I love my kepala ikan.
It’s a thrill digging for the flesh and soft tissue and there is a quite a bit of meat on the head. This was served with some grilled salmon bones and you can salvage some smoky tasting meat from the bones. Yummeh!

Confession. I ordered this for lunch on an earlier visit. This was how it looked like.
Perfect for a low carb meal.
OK, back to our dinner.
We got this something-something maki to share. It was good as the salmon and scallops had a smokey flavor.
This was my partner’s order. Eh, it looks so familiar. Yup, he ordered this on our first visit. See, he does it all the time hee..hee..
Well, I guess we could return every now and then for our Friday or Saturday dinners. And I have a nice place to visit for affordable Japanese lunch sets. Yay!
