Last weekend my brother and I had a lunch date. We had a mission to accomplish at SS2 – pet shop! Well, that would be a story for another day.
We originally planned on having dim sum. But we had second thoughts because the dim sum place near my home (Paradise Dynasty@IPC) seemed similar to Din Tai Fung and we were not that keen.
So anyway, off to SS2 to settle our business. When we left the pet shop we saw Kyochon round the corner. My brother has been telling me about Kyochon fried chicken and how good they were (ordered via Grabfood).
There is a Kyochon at 1 Utama but it is always full house when I pass by Friday evenings. Which explains why I have never been there. Besides, this is not the sort of food that my partner likes.
So without further ado, we crossed the road and made our way to Kyochon. We were the first ones there and the music was blaring away very loudly. My brother had to tell the server to turn the volume down.
I let my brother do the ordering as he is more familiar with the menu.
Iced Lemon Tea for each of us.
And my brother’s favorite Honey Wingette & Drumette (12 pieces) which comes in a set with rice, drinks and soup.
My brother chose the Garlic Rice for himself and a Kimchi Fried Rice for me. I tasted a spoonful of the Garlic Rice and thought it was flavorful but the garlic was not that distinct.
But I enjoyed the Kimchi Fried Rice a lot.
And now on to the chicken. Whoa! I loved it! No wonder my brother was raving about this honey fried chicken.
That’s not all.
My brother also made an order for the Sampler which consisted of Soy+Red Pepper+Honey chicken (4 pieces each). After tasting all three, the honey is still the best to us.
After we placed our order, the server was concerned since our food totals 24 pieces of chicken plus two bowls of rice and soup. My brother assured her that if we can’t finish, we will tapau the chicken.. Yeah, right.
When the food was served, I also thought we ordered too much but well, knowing us ….. Can! We can eat!
We also had an order of pickled radish which was great in providing freshness and actually makes us want to eat more chicken hah…hah…
We finished everything except the soup (which was pretty ordinary) and side salad (we did not like the dressing). I was really stuffed and I did not need to eat dinner that evening. Many thanks to my brother for introducing me to Kyochon and for the treat!
Well, one of these days, I am going to order through Grabfood!
