Food at Training and Seminars

Food at Training and Seminars 1

Every time when we attend training, my brother and I like to exchange information about the buffet. The food at such and such a place is good or the buffet at such and such a place is just like chap fan

Not too long ago I attended this one.

We have to keep abreast with accounting standards which seem to be changing so fast all the time. I miss the good old says when it was more fun to be an accountant.

But let’s talk about the more interesting and relatable topic – food!

Most of the time, the cakes at these big hotels are not that great. I make better banana cake.

The selections at the buffet were just so so.

The only thing outstanding were the oysters!

Food at Training and Seminars 6

Second round of oysters.

Desserts were just OK. I have to taste each one heh..heh…

On the second day of the seminar, the food was worse. And no oysters. Bah!

So I just snapped my desserts.

On the first day of the training, it rained cats and dogs in the evening.

Food at Training and Seminars 9

I have not been to this part of town for ages!

Food at Training and Seminars 10

When it rains, there is always traffic jam.

Oh, I remember Globe Silk Store!

It would be nice to take a walk on a good day for some look see look see.

So many cars!

Food at Training and Seminars 14

Crawling …. crawling ….

I left the venue at 5:00 pm and reached home close to 8:00pm. So tired.

Next seminar.

Not that I enjoy this one but this is the accountant’s equivalent (sort of) of Milan Fashion Week. If you are a fashion designer and you did not attend Milan Fashion Week, you are out.

Food at Training and Seminars 17

Over eight hundred people attended.

I hate crowds. Tea break was chaotic.

There were some inconsiderate participants who went ahead and chit chatted among themselves.

Lunch? I think they got the trainees at Berjaya cooking school to whip up a feast. It was so bad I did not take any photos.

The only consolation was that desserts were not bad at all.

Food at Training and Seminars 20

That’s a lot of desserts because I hardly ate anything for the mains.

It was so nice that I went for a second helping.

And finally from my last training for the year. Not at a big hotel. Food prepared by a local caterer. Better tasting than the ones from the hotels.

This was tea break – kuay teow goreng (with some yum yum sambal), bingka labu (notice that I chose the burnt parts which are the best tasting) and karipap. So good!

And this was lunch – rice, ikan goreng (I took lots of sambal belacan), udang goreng kunyit, kari ayam, sayur campur and ulam. Sedap!
